An Extension to or Renovations to an Existing Dwelling provide the opportunity to Retrofit or Build​ to current optimal standards providing a payback and an opportunity ​ to avail of Grant Aid in upgrading thermal insulation, heating system,​

Solar PV etc.​

In order to calculate the optimal specification with the required levels of thermal insulation, ​window and door U-Values, Heating System Efficiency and Renewable Technologies options etc., ​a BER must be carried out which involves the calculation method known as DEAP4.​
